Job summary

Dover Corp in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking a Brazer I to join our manufacturing team, brazing components for refrigerated display cases. You will use a brazing torch to join copper, brass, and other metals and read work orders and blueprints to identify part numbers.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, six months brazing experience or a brazing certification, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and familiarity with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Six months brazing experience or a brazing certification.
• Able to perform basic math in all units of measure (including whole numbers, fractions and decimals).
• Experience with soldering or welding.
• Experience with refrigerated display cases or HVAC systems.
• Manufacturing, testing or other hands on experience with refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Braze copper to copper, brass, aluminum or other dissimilar metals using a brazing torch.
• Read and comprehend work orders and blueprints; identify part numbers.
• Braze coil assemblies/packages in accordance with defined standards; ensure product quality meets established standards.
• Cut metal piping to specified lengths.
• Preform checks to ensure brazing equipment is in safe and working order; report discrepancies to department leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
