Job summary

Performance Contracting in Des Moines, IA, is seeking an entry-level Branch Safety Engineer to train and coach workers under the PCI Target Zero Accident Prevention Plan, fostering a collaborative safety culture.

You will implement safety plans, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and liaise with clients to ensure regulatory compliance while supporting continuous safety improvements across the PCI Des Moines branch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
• Entry-level construction safety experience.
• Proven ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing safety plans and policies at the branch and client sites.
• Provide safety technical expertise, training, and resources.
• Identify and mitigate safety and health hazards, routine and non-routine.
• Conduct job site inspections to verify compliance with safety policies.
• Promote safe work practices through coaching and engagement.
• Investigate injuries and near-misses and enforce corrective actions.
• Review safety incident reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Submit safety reports and documentation on time.
• Serve as liaison between the company and clients on site safety management.
• Establish branch safety goals and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and PPE.
