Job summary

AVS Bio is seeking a Poultry House Operator in Catskill, NY to support the daily care of laying hens and production of SPF eggs. This entry-level role offers fully paid training and a direct placement with long-term growth in the life sciences industry.

You will monitor feed and water, maintain sanitation, assist with basic maintenance, and ensure humane handling of birds in a farm environment. CNA, waiter/waitress, and housekeeper backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Able to work well in a team and stay flexible.

Responsibilities

• Monitor feed, water, equipment and house conditions.
• Collect and sanitize eggs for SPF eggs for sale.
• Maintain sanitation and biosecurity standards.
• Observe flock health and report concerns.
• Assist in basic maintenance and humane care of birds.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Handle euthanized birds according to guidelines.
