Job summary

AVS Bio is seeking a Poultry House Operator for the Roanoke, IL facility. The role covers monitoring feed, water, equipment and temperatures; maintaining a clean, sanitary egg house; and collecting and sanitizing eggs to produce SPF eggs for sale.

You will ensure biosecurity and humane care of birds, with a daytime schedule and weekend requirements. Responsibilities include regular communication with Farm Management, basic maintenance, weekly blood draws, bird health monitoring, and potential

Qualifications

• Experience working in poultry/biologics environments is advantageous.
• CNAs, waitstaff and housekeepers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Monitor feed, water, equipment and temperature.
• Keep house and equipment clean and sanitary.
• Collect and sanitize eggs for SPF egg sales.
• Communicate regularly with Farm Management.
• Maintain biosecurity regulations and practices.
• Perform weekly blood draws.
• Monitor and adjust feeders, waterers, medicators, temperatures, bird weights and overall condition.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Ensure humane care of birds through life cycle stages.
• Handle bird sales as requested.
