Job summary

AVS Bio is seeking a Farm Technician in Catskill, NY to support brooding, house management, egg handling, and related maintenance. This direct-hire role requires weekend work with two days off during the week, and includes responsibilities across animal care, facility upkeep, and recordkeeping.

You will operate farm machinery, monitor environmental controls, collect samples, and ensure biosecurity compliance. A HS diploma, 1–2 years of related experience, and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years related light maintenance or agricultural experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to pass respirator fit test after training.
• Biosecurity and safety procedures must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds.
• Operate farm equipment (skid steer, tractor, forklift) as needed.
• Manage poultry house operations per SOPs including cleaning, sanitizing and handling eggs.
• Monitor bird health, feed, water, lighting and ventilation; report issues.
• Maintain records and complete required forms accurately.
• Perform routine housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance.
