Qualifications

Do you have a knack for fostering positive behavior and creating a supportive learning environment? Holding Hands Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Behavior Technician.

Department: ABA - Behavioral Support

Location: Ladera Heights, CA

Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 / hour

Description

Join Our Team as a Behavior Technician! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities? Do you have a knack for fostering positive behavior and creating a supportive learning environment? Holding Hands Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Behavior Technician.

Schedule: In clinic and in home

  • Sessions are primarily 2 - 3 hours each and take place in the clients’ homes, community, or at one of our clinics.
  • Appointment based scheduling with an average of 20 hours per week minimum.
  • Majority of sessions are after school hours until 8:00pm
  • Weekends are an option as well between 9:00am – 4:00pm
A Day in the life of a Behavior Technician
  • Use a model of therapy referred to as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Trained in evidence-based ABA principles to provide behavioral support for students requiring 1:1 care.
  • Offer personalized support to clients in their home, school, or clinics.
  • Collaborate with clinical team to implement intervention plans, collect observational data, and session notes.
  • ABA aims to reduce target behaviors and develop new skills for independence. Comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Support clients in achieving their goals and celebrate their progress.
  • Recognize that ABA is tailored to each individual’s needs, interests, and environment.
Qualifications - What you bring to the table
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds, sit, and run as needed
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance
  • Passion for working with children, youth, and young adults with developmental disabilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • ABA experience or RBT Certified
  • CPR certification in pediatrics and adults
  • Experience managing behaviors such as non-compliance, elopement, aggression, self-injury
