Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service in El Cajon is seeking a General Service Technician to perform oil changes, tire services, inspections, and routine maintenance. This entry-level role supports site operations and provides hands-on training in a shop environment, with opportunities for career growth and advancement.

You will work with experienced technicians and service advisors, learning foundational skills and procedures while contributing to a safe and customer-ready shop.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic automotive maintenance and repair processes.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety standards, and store processes.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire services, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and rotations.
• Perform oil changes and basic maintenance (fluids, wipers, bulbs, batteries, filters).
• Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections and repair order documentation.
• Identify safety-related issues and communicate findings per store channels.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable.
• Keep shop, service area, and customer areas clean and customer-ready.
• Transport customers and parts using company or customer vehicles as directed.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE, report hazards.
