Job summary

GxP Associates in Texas is seeking an entry-level Automation Engineer to support development, implementation, and optimization of automated control systems. The role covers PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, electrical controls, and documentation.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to troubleshoot, commission equipment, and drive continuous improvement. Strong fundamentals and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in automation, controls, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• Basic PLC programming knowledge and experience with industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems preferred.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and control panels.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of automated control systems.
• Assist with PLC programming and modifications using platforms such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens.
• Support HMI/SCADA configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with system commissioning, startup, and equipment integration activities.
• Review electrical drawings, control schematics, and system documentation.
• Participate in equipment testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support preventive maintenance and resolution of automation-related issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and change records.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
