Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician I in Garden City, MI. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on vehicles. You may work independently or with a team to ensure quality service and cost/time control.

Required are a high school diploma, valid license, and 1+ year vehicle service experience; flexibility to work days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Ongoing training is encouraged to keep up with tech changes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of vehicle service/repair experience; 1 year customer service preferred.
• Must be able to work days, afternoons, weekends and holidays.
• Must stay current with tech and fleet changes via ongoing training.
• Physical requirements: stand/walk, stoop/kneel, color vision, depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, oil/filter, fuel filter, battery replacement and vehicle inspection.
• Performs repairs and diagnostics as needed.
• Repairs and maintenance per certification levels (OBD II, brakes, tires, tune-ups, suspension, electrical, engine, drive-line).
• Keep the shop area clean and safe; dispose of fluids properly.
• Work independently or in a team; meet safety standards and timeframes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
