Job summary

Maher Duessel is seeking entry-level Staff Auditors to join in January 2027 or July 2027 to perform detailed financial statement audits under supervision.

Successful candidates will join a firm offering strong work–life balance, meaningful client exposure, and a competitive compensation and benefits package. A CPA-eligible accounting background and the ability to travel modestly are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or CPA-eligible coursework completed or in progress.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated teamwork and client service orientation.
• Integrity and professional ethics are essential.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients and firm staff to display a strong work ethic.
• Follow instructions and apply feedback to future assignments.
• Build technical knowledge through diligent audit work.
• Focus on quality of work over speed in task execution.
• Become familiar with firm policies, procedures, and forms.
• Understand applicable professional standards (AICPA, FASB, GASB).
• Gain working knowledge of firm technology (Caseware, RIA Checkpoint, CCH, Practice Engine).
• Stay informed about developments affecting government and non-profit audits.
• Offer ideas to improve audit techniques and collaborate with teams.
• Work toward CPA exam progression.
