Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a manufacturer in the Mount Pleasant, Michigan area, is seeking entry level assemblers to join their team. Pay: $15.50/hr. Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts available. Contract to Hire.

Assemble small standardized electrical/electronic/mechanical components; training is provided on-the-job; work on an organized, semi-mechanized assembly line with standardized methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience to understand work instructions and perform duties.
• Able to read simple instructions, memos and correspondence; write simple correspondence; and present information in small groups.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret simple data.
• Can apply common sense to simple instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variation.
• Regularly stand; use hands for repetitive tasks; occasionally walk, bend, reach, or lift up to 50 lbs; must have good vision.

Responsibilities

• Use specialized hand tools, including small electric and/or pneumatic hand tools.
• Read instructions, check sheets, gauges and testing devices, including digital read-out displays.
• Recognize and correct defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes or workmanship.
• Work as part of a work team under close supervision.
• Repetitively assemble and inspect small component parts using fine motor skills and both hands.
• Run several job stations, rotating among stations with other associates.
• Communicate with team members, Team Leader and Supervisor using clear language.
• Push carts ranging from lightweight to heavy loads.
