Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in animal or life science or related field.
• 6 months related experience in animal research and/or husbandry or equivalent technical requirements.
• ALAT certification preferred.
• Ability to handle common laboratory species and perform basic data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-life technical procedures such as clipping, weighing and dosing.
• Administer test substances by basic methods (e.g., oral gavage).
• Enter, print and edit data in computer systems and study records.
• May act as lead/primary technician on basic studies under supervision.
• Monitor animal health and welfare; maintain accurate records.
• Collect and record research data and specimens in compliance with GLPs and SOPs.
• Read study protocols and extract pertinent information for reporting.
• Verify documentation and quality control of performed functions.
• Retrieve SOPs and follow GLPs, SOPs, and company policies.
