Job summary

Zoetis in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an entry-level manager to schedule, manage and coordinate daily operational activities supporting pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biological research in companion animals and rodents.

You will lead the technical staff, develop talent, and participate in ongoing leadership responsibilities within the Animal Research Support Management Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent experience in a science field.
• Two to four (2 - 4) years related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and sanitary environment for all animals and employees.
• Care for companion animals and rodents per USDA/FDA/AAALAC guidelines.
• Interact with researchers, site leaders, veterinary staff, facilities, and IACUC.
• Host inspections and provide updates and resolutions to regulatory agencies.
• Write and review SOPs.
• Hire and train staff; provide supervision and development of technical staff.
• Ensure adherence to policies and cross-functional communication for animal studies.
• May work with zoonotic pathogens and chemicals; participate in on-call duty including weekends/holidays.
