Job summary

Zoetis, Inc is seeking an animal research technician to support day-to-day animal facility operations at the Kalamazoo, MI site. The role focuses on care for cats, dogs, and rodents and requires adherence to SOPs and institutional policies.

Weekend and holiday work on rotation is expected; the candidate will assist in all phases of clinical and preclinical studies, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare and data collection in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; must demonstrate math and reading comprehension.
• Willingness to learn on the job, flexibility and a good attitude.
• Proven ability to work well in a team and adapt in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Feed and care for cats, dogs, and rodents in a research setting.
• Clean and disinfect animal areas and support cagewash operations.
• Assist with study execution and data collection per SOPs and protocols.
• Maintain animal facility and conduct routine lab and instrument maintenance.
• Provide communication and support to lead technicians, managers, and researchers.
• Assist clinical veterinarians with veterinary care and welfare.
