Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to support routine testing and quality activities in a small chemical distribution facility. You will perform analytical tasks, operate GC after training, and document results with GDP in a clean, safe environment.

The role also covers basic administrative duties as workload varies. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a keen interest in lab work, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; chemistry interest strongly preferred.
  • Able to follow written procedures and verbal instructions with accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping; attention to GDP.
  • Preferred coursework or degree in chemistry or related field; prior lab experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine chemical testing as per established procedures.
  • Operate equipment including GC after instruction and demonstration.
  • Document results and observations in accordance with GDP.
  • Assist with COA preparation and review as assigned.
  • Maintain lab organization, PPE use, and proper sample handling.
  • Support inventory tracking of consumables and materials.
  • Provide backup administrative support during low workload periods.
  • Support audits and inspections with documentation as requested.
