Job summary

Piper Aircraft Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Subassembler I for ERCO 1st Shift. This full-time role supports production of aircraft and subassemblies per Piper drawings, PPS, and manufacturing instructions.

Responsibilities include drilling, riveting, assembling subassemblies, and using hand, electric, and pneumatic tools. You will read blueprints, follow BOMs, and maintain FAA/QAM compliance while growing skills in a dynamic shop floor environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or successful completion of a verifiable occupational training program.
• Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
• Use of hand and power tools as required
• Follow all safety procedures
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions

Responsibilities

• Drill out, dimple, countersink, rivet and torque aircraft parts and subassemblies.
• Assemble aircraft subassembly parts using common fasteners such as rivets, nuts, bolts, washers and other hardware.
• Use a variety of assembly tools including electric, manual and pneumatic equipment.
• Install fasteners, hardware and rivets per blueprints, specifications and BOM.
• Accurately read and utilize Shop Floor Information, blueprints, specifications, work orders and SMPs.
• Complete required PACT LMS training modules.
• Maintain compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
• Perform housekeeping and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work independently or with supervision.
