Job summary

MHI RJ Aviation Group is seeking an entry-level Open/Close Technician to support disassembly and reassembly of aircraft components during repair and overhaul processes. You will follow approved manuals, prepare parts for inspection, and help ensure airworthiness.

You'll work in climate-controlled hangars at our Bridgeport, WV or Tucson, AZ facilities on a 12-hour shift schedule, collaborating with inspectors, mechanics, and engineers to maintain safety, quality, and timely maintenance

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (other equivalents maybe considered).
• Mechanical aptitude is necessary to use basic hand tools and drills in the removal of aircraft panels.
• Skills necessary to read and interpret aircraft manuals.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals within a team environment.
• Communication skills necessary to understand written and verbal instructions; working knowledge of applicable safety procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble aircraft components, assemblies, and subassemblies per manuals and engineering specs.
• Clean, inspect, organize, and identify parts during teardown.
• Document component condition and report discrepancies, damage, or missing parts.
• Complete required maintenance records and work orders accurately.
• Follow safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area using BOE and continuous improvement principles.
• Collaborate with inspectors, mechanics, technicians, and engineering personnel to ensure workflow and quality.
• Support maintenance schedules by meeting turnaround time and productivity goals.
• Support building maintenance with daily activities as required.
