Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an R&D S&E Artificial Intelligence Engineer to provide systems engineering for agentic AI systems at the Albuquerque site. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize agent tooling and agent workflows against technical goals and operating environments.

The role emphasizes lifecycle development, integration with tools and CI/CD, and evaluation frameworks for reliability, safety, and national security impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent research/engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain DOE Q and SCI clearance.
• Experience developing AI software for enterprise or national security applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize agent and multi-agent AI tooling and workflows.
• Define development lifecycle for agentic systems and CI/CD practices.
• Build evaluation pipelines and integrate tools, APIs, and orchestration frameworks.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and performance of AI agents in production.
