Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque seeks an AI engineer to advance high-TRL software on embedded processors, real-time systems, and FPGA-based platforms. You will help deploy AI algorithms on constrained hardware, enabling real-time autonomy and intelligent control in mission environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance and SCI clearance (polygraph may be required).
• Strong programming and hardware design experience for embedded, real-time and FPGA platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy high-TRL software on embedded, electronics, and FPGA platforms.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding methods to improve productivity and quality.
• Optimize software for latency, power, memory, and reliability in resource-constrained environments.
• Collaborate across software, firmware, electronics, and mission-domain teams to deliver integrated systems.
