Job summary

Asure Software in Addison, TX, is seeking an Associate AI Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered software in our AWS cloud. You will write Python, build features that integrate LLMs, and contribute to data pipelines and API services with guidance from a senior team.

This role targets early-career engineers who will grow by learning modern AI software practices, with room to expand skills in AI/LLMs, cloud technologies, and software engineering fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field.
• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Proficiency in Python with solid software engineering basics; ability to ramp up on Python quickly.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and LLMs.
• Understanding of APIs, web services, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to build AI-powered features.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested Python code for services and APIs leveraging AI.
• Integrate LLMs and AI services into applications and business workflows in AWS.
• Assist with prompt design, experimentation, evaluation, and validation of LLM-based features.
• Contribute to data pipelines and retrieval components (embeddings, vector search) for AI features.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, monitor, and resolve defects in AI-enabled apps.
• Work with relational, NoSQL, and vector data stores to support AI solutions.
• Support deployment and operation of AI applications in AWS environments.
• Participate in Agile development activities and follow responsible AI practices.
