Job summary

Brown Builders Inc. in Louisiana is seeking an Entry-Level Accounting Assistant to join the on-site Accounting Department. This full-time role offers hands-on experience in a construction environment and room to grow within the company.

You will support accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and HR administrative tasks while maintaining paperless records and collaborative teamwork. Prior accounting exposure is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business is a plus.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Willingness to learn accounting software and company systems.
• Experience in a paperless environment is a plus.
• Construction industry experience and Sage are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing accounts payable invoices in a paperless environment.
• Maintain vendor files and supporting documentation.
• Code, approve, and process invoices for payment.
• Assist with accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
• Assist with payroll processing and HR administrative tasks.
• Maintain subcontract and purchase order documentation, including certified payroll and lien waivers.
• Maintain accurate employee and vendor records in a paperless environment.
• Support onboarding and HR-related duties.
• Assist with benefits enrollment and HRA maintenance.
• Enter data accurately in company systems and prepare reports.
