Job summary

Brice Marine LLC in Alaska seeks an Able Seaman to support deck operations aboard cargo vessels. The role includes loading, lashing, discharge of cargo, mooring, and tow handling under the guidance of licensed crew; watch duties may apply, with emphasis on safety and seamanlike conduct.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1 year deckhand experience (AB endorsement/ MMC preferred), and the ability to pass Coast Guard medical and background checks; Alaska navigation experience is a plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of Able Seaman or deckhand experience preferred.
• MMC with AB endorsement preferred.
• Basic Safety and Firefighting training preferred.
• Current TWIC card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading, lashing, unlashing and discharge of cargo.
• Clean the tug and barges.
• Assist with handling fuel and freight.
• Act as lookout and maintain watch on deck and in the engine room.
• Operate deck machinery such as windlass or winches while mooring/unmooring.
• Perform maintenance and upkeep of deck equipment and areas.
• Follow safety and company policies and procedures.
