Job summary

Onyx in Texas is seeking a Lab Technician I. You will receive and log samples, prepare test specimens, run tests across our full menu, and record data that becomes our customers' deliverable.

This entry-level position includes comprehensive training and day-to-day direction from the Quality team. As you demonstrate competency, you may work independently and advance to Lab Technician II or Quality Technician I. Full-time with rotating weekend shifts and a structured growth path await.

Qualifications

• Follow written procedures exactly and complete records accurately.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.
• Recognize deviations and speak up immediately when something looks wrong.
• Work effectively as part of a small, reliable team.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log incoming samples, verify against work orders.
• Log data in the LIMS, assign sample IDs and labels for traceability.
• Prepare test specimens and stage samples by work order and priority.
• Perform tests per industry standards and customer specs under guidance.
• Record data on worksheets; report anomalies or deviations promptly.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment; keep areas clean and safe.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements; dispose of waste properly.
