Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah is seeking an Entry Cook to support the Latitude kitchen. The role focuses on foundational cooking techniques, station setup, and prep, in a fast-paced, ultra-premium resort environment.

Onsite, Year-Round / Full-Time with a lunch shift, offering growth within a professional culinary team. Responsibilities include precise portioning, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting senior cooks to ensure smooth service.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for assigned stations according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Assist with daily prep including chopping, slicing, portioning, and basic cooking techniques.
• Set up and break down stations before and after service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, coolers, and storage areas.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
• Support service execution by assisting senior cooks and chefs during peak periods.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and rotation following FIFO standards.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and storing food deliveries as needed.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service flow.
• Report equipment issues, shortages, or safety concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium culinary and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Entry Cook role is an essential part of the Latitude kitchen team, supporting daily service execution and maintaining high culinary standards.

Onsite: Black Desert Resort – 20th HoleShift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time (Lunch shift)

Pay Rate: $17.00 – $19.55/hour. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
