Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah seeks an Entry Cook to support basic kitchen operations at Latitude. You will prepare items per recipes, maintain station setup, and assist with service in a fast-paced, ultra-premium resort environment.

The role emphasizes foundational cooking techniques, attention to detail, teamwork, and a willingness to learn within a professional culinary team. Onsite at 20th Hole, shift is lunch, year-round, full-time.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for assigned stations according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Assist with daily prep including chopping, slicing, portioning, and basic cooking techniques.
• Set up and break down stations before and after service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, coolers, and storage areas.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
• Support service execution by assisting senior cooks and chefs during peak periods.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and rotation following FIFO standards.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and storing food deliveries as needed.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service flow.
• Report equipment issues, shortages, or safety concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium culinary and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Entry Cook role is an essential part of the Latitude kitchen team, supporting daily service execution and maintaining high culinary standards.

Job Summary

Onsite: Black Desert Resort – 20th Hole

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time (Lunch shift)

Pay Rate: $17.00 – $19.55/hour. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
