Job summary

Wyman-Gordon is seeking a Level 1 Machinist to operate 2-5 axis CNC lathe and/or mill machines. The role includes setup, fixture/tool loading, programming offsets, and basic maintenance. Must read prints, use Fanuc controls, and support 3rd shift (8:15pm–4:45am) with potential 1st shift training.

6S and safety adherence are emphasized. Ideal candidates will have high school completion and a willingness to learn, with preferred 1-year technical training or manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn for entry-level.
• One-year technical certificate preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under PPE and safety guidelines.
• Read blueprints and determine tolerances.
• Measure and mark dimensions on material.
• Set up fixtures and tools on machines.
• Move parts with cranes or forklifts.
• Set machine speeds, feeds, and coolant.
• Monitor machine operation for faults and adjust as needed.
• Verify finished part conformance to specs.
• Document production and quality logs.
