Job summary

Gusto in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Entity Management team to lead the technical development of a new product that eases compliance for entrepreneurs. You will mentor engineers, drive initiatives, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will help automate complex lifecycle processes and contribute to a scalable platform, with travel to Denver for onboarding and a hybrid office expectation in SF.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience including greenfield work.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Typescript and React preferred but not required.
• Strong collaboration with Product, Design, Marketing and other teams.
• Mentorship experience and ability to guide engineers.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and drive innovation.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute on the technical roadmap for the new product within your team's scope.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Customer Support and Marketing to deliver solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering continuous learning.
• Develop the team's software development process and technical approaches.
• Drive new functionality in legacy systems to support the new customer base.
• Serve as a technical leader, designing solutions and solving challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
