Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field.
• Minimum of ten years of professional writing experience
• Demonstrated experience in both writing and editing in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible language
• Experience using AI tools for writing, editing or workflow optimization
• Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and integrate them into daily work
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of healthcare or academic environments is preferred

Responsibilities

• Content creation: develop strategic, clear and engaging content for MUSC Catalyst News and enterprise channels
• Editorial management: edit and refine content to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Coach contributors on writing/editing best practices to elevate enterprise content
• Tools and platforms: coordinate publishing with Sitecore and digital/creative teams
• Use AI tools to draft, edit, summarize and optimize content workflows
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate repetitive tasks
• Support AI-enabled workflows to improve turnaround time and scalability
• Analyze content performance and refine strategies based on insights
• Other duties as assigned
