Job summary

WebMD LLC, a Medscape Network division, seeks an Editor for Custom Content to lead digital medical editorial projects for healthcare professionals worldwide. You will edit, revise, and align content with clinical accuracy while collaborating with medical experts and AI-enabled workflows.

The ideal candidate has strong writing, medical editing expertise, and experience with AI in editorial contexts, plus the ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet editorial standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, English, science, medicine, or equivalent years experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing/editing in digital medical publishing or a similar field.
• Practical experience using generative AI tools in a professional context.
• Ability to craft prompts and critically evaluate AI outputs against clinical guidelines.
• Agile mindset with adaptability to new digital tools and workflows.
• Ability to analyze complex data including clinical trials and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate content for clarity, accuracy, and clinical relevance, editing to editorial standards.
• Integrate generative AI engines across the editorial lifecycle to optimize workflows.
• Rigorously audit AI-generated drafts, summaries, and citations against primary sources.
• Collaborate with physician contributors to ensure clinical accuracy.
• Provide editorial feedback to strengthen clarity, sourcing, and structure.
• Manage product development cycle and deliver content on schedule.
• Support content calendar and image selection processes.
• Adhere to department best practices to increase efficiency.
