This onsite role requires the selected candidate to work from an HHS office in Austin, Texas.
The Enterprise Technology Coordinator performs advanced (senior-level) enterprise technology coordination and project management work within the HHSC-CTO organization. In addition to strong coordination, technical, financial, project, and leadership skills, this role requires a practical understanding of modern enterprise technologies including a broad understanding of project management practices at HHSC to effectively engage with vendors, architects, IT governance, and delivery teams.
The role serves as an IT delivery coordinator, working closely with the CTO architects, and other IT areas to translate enterprise technology direction into coordinated execution of artificial intelligence technology across programs and vendors. This role offers opportunities for growth for individuals with a clear understanding of Texas Health and Human Services business practices and processes for IT deliveries.
Project coordination and management involve defining and managing scope and customer expectations; detailed project schedules; resource plans; project plans; communications plans; budgets and cost tracking; presentations and briefings; metrics reporting; risk / issues and associated mitigation activities; quality control; change management processes; customer acceptance; lessons learned; and archiving project documentation. (25%)
IT and systems integration standards to perform project planning work, alternatives analysis, and risk analysis/management. Support the programs to address desired business process and technology improvements. Develops productive working relationships with program area. Understands IT governance and financial reporting processes. (25%)
Apply principles of HHS Monitors and manage projects to completion. Monitors and management project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications. (20%)
Supports the development of vendor technical strategies, organizational strategies, project plans, charts, diagrams, tables, monthly and final reports that depict present and proposed systems in terms of costs, benefits derived, and tasks accomplished. (15%)
Initiates, develops, maintains, and completes, in collaboration with the Enterprise Technology Manager, a clearly defined technical and project management professional learning path to support the successful delivery of artificial intelligence technology initiatives. Completion of this learning path is required as part of the employee’s regular daily duties and responsibilities. (15%)

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in information systems, business administration, mathematics, or a related field is generally preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in enterprise IT environments, including experience coordinating vendors, projects, financial management, or technology deployment initiatives, is required.
Experience working within a CTO, enterprise architecture, or centralized technology organization specific to health and human services is strongly preferred. Experience supporting executive leadership, governance, financial reporting, or portfolio coordination is also preferred.
Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual.
