Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field required.
  • Additional experience in the support of a networked desktop/application environment may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of technology-related experience required.
  • Additional consideration may be given to candidates with specific technical certifications related to systems applicable to Angelo State University.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Information Technology leadership team, the Enterprise Systems Analyst will focus on designing, developing and improving the University’s processes and services through the support, augmentation, and development of technology software applications. Provides integration and support for applications, programs and scripts to simplify the customer experience. Develops processes and applications for data and authentication integration. Facilitates and/or leads discussions with technical peers, vendors, and leadership teams to anticipate/resolve problems and develop solutions for campus needs to ensure high availability.

This technical support position requires resolving complex technical challenges in the Banner Student environments, including platform customization and customer-facing app creation using both code-based and no-code tools. Collaboration is key, with responsibilities including effective communication across teams and vendors, partnering with users to generate insightful reports, and supporting peers and student technicians.

Additionally, the role contributes to strategic technology evaluations and stays current with emerging tools to enhance university-wide systems and services.

  • Application Development & System Integration: Assists in the design, development and support for university applications and their integration into other technical and functional areas. Assists in working with functional users, create reports and support business needs for day-to-day operations and identify trends to improve business processes. Efficiently and creatively solve moderately difficult or complex problems that affect immediate work team and/or extended team. Serve as a key contributor in group troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Data Management and Platform Support: Assists in managing data operations including imports, exports, and cleansing to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Contributes knowledge in resolving complex challenges in Salesforce development, including platform customization, system integration, and customer-facing app development using both code-based and no-code tools. Supports automation and synchronization of new and existing university systems and services.
  • Collaboration and Operational Reporting: Communicates effectively with functional teams, technical staff, and vendor partners to manage expectations and foster collaboration. Partners with functional users to support daily operations and identify trends to improve business processes. Coordinates closely with project leads on customer-specific initiatives involving data translation or integration support and development.
  • Technical Problem Solving and Strategic Planning: Assists in creative problem-solving to moderately complex challenges, supports peers and student technicians, and plays a key role in collaborative troubleshooting. Assists to university-wide technology evaluations, offering strategic recommendations to improve processes and productivity, while staying informed about emerging tools and coordinating closely on data integration initiatives.
  • Utilizes ticketing and project management tools to manage requests, incidents, changes, and projects while ensuring timely updates and resolution. Collaborates with the Information Security Team to enforce security standards and partners with IT staff and campus officials to support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Banner and related software that would facilitate improved business processes.
  • Power BI & Cognos reporting toolset.
  • SQL programming language as it relates to a database environment.
  • Applicable University rules, regulation, policies, and procedures.
  • Principles, practices, and procedures of computer programming/scripting.
  • PHP, Python, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Data reporting, dashboards, and outcome tracking for program assessment.

Skill in:

  • Best-practice programming/scripting techniques.
  • Secure coding practices.
  • Adapting and maintaining existing applications, frameworks, and API’s.
  • Interpersonal relations and project management.
  • Expressing technical terminology in an understandable manner to customers.

Job title of Enterprise Systems Analyst I-III along with salary will depend on the applicant’s qualifications.
