Job summary

Highmark Health is offering the Summer 2027 Software Engineer enGen Graduate Internship. The program targets graduate students, providing hands-on experience in developing and modernizing enterprise healthcare technology solutions within the DCSS application development team.

Interns will work with engineers, architects, BAs, and product owners through the SDLC in an Agile setting, gaining exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and enterprise architecture while preparing for full-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Pursuing a graduate degree (full or part-time) in an accredited program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software components and APIs as part of internship projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and product owners across SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to solution design and implementation.
• Assist in cloud-enabled solutions and modernization initiatives for healthcare tech.
• Analyze issues, troubleshoot, and document technical work.
• Support integrations and maintain code quality and documentation.
• Engage in mentoring and hands-on learning to build a foundation for a software career.
