Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor software teams, define architecture, and drive large-scale, secure, cloud-native initiatives across the organization.

You will partner with executives to align technology with strategy, manage budgets, and cultivate an innovative development culture. This role emphasizes delivery, governance, and people development within enterprise programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 7 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in computer science or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of education, 11 years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading software engineering teams and enterprise programs.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and team operations.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages software engineering teams and strategic development projects.
• Defines technical vision, development strategy, and architectural direction.
• Oversees task planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
• Recruits, mentors, and develops engineering talent through performance management and coaching.
• Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Collaborates with executive stakeholders to align software initiatives with organizational strategy.
• Ensures delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing software systems.
• Supports succession planning and team growth through structured development plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned
