Job summary

Altorfer, a leading Caterpillar dealer, seeks a Director of Safety & Risk Management to drive enterprise safety, risk, and environmental programs across multiple states. You will partner with executives to reduce risk, improve performance, and protect people and property.

The role requires strong leadership, deep regulatory knowledge, and experience in multi-site operations, with significant travel and a focus on data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive safety/risks leadership experience; 10+ preferred.
• Experience leading multi-site operations and influencing leaders.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, state requirements.
• Experience managing insurance programs, broker relationships, claims strategy.
• Experience in heavy equipment, construction, or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise safety strategy and promote proactive safety culture.
• Identify and reduce safety, operational, environmental, fleet, and regulatory risk.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, and state requirements.
• Manage insurance programs, claims strategy, and return-to-work processes.
• Oversee safety training, audits, and emergency preparedness.
