Job summary

Altorfer Cat seeks a strategic Director of Safety & Risk Management to lead enterprise safety, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance across 38 locations. You will partner with executives to strengthen accountability, manage insurance programs, and guide incident investigations while developing training and safety programs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of leadership in safety or risk across multi-site operations, with strong OSHA/DOT/EPA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive safety, environmental, insurance, claims, or operational risk leadership experience; ten or more years preferred.
• Experience leading multi-site operations and driving safety culture across the organization.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, and state requirements; safety and risk management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Safety strategy leadership across the enterprise and promotion of a proactive safety culture.
• Identify and reduce safety, operational, environmental, fleet, and regulatory risk.
• Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, and state safety/compliance requirements are met.
• Oversee insurance programs, claims strategy, and return-to-work efforts.
• Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and executive risk escalation.
• Oversee training, audits, emergency preparedness, and contractor safety programs.
• Lead the safety team and advise executives on safety, risk, and major projects.
• Manage budgets, risk-reduction investments, and performance metrics.
