Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Experience with OSHA and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF tools.
  • Knowledge of state and federal guidelines and statutes.
  • Must have OSHA 511 or equivalent.
  • Willing to travel up to 20%.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally to address safety issues.
  • Update management on safety program status via reports.
  • Submit OSHA logs for each location.

Job description

The Safety Manager will identify the Safety, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements, set clearly defined objectives and targets, and track the success of results. They will enable their respective divisions to effectively identify and manage progress towards achieving these objectives and targets put in place to reduce or control significant identified issues.

  • Conduct safety audits of facilities to identify opportunities for improvement, develop recommendations for corrections, and partner with local teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Attend incident review meetings to assist in the review of accidents/injuries, determine root cause, and outline corrective actions.
  • Assist in audits performed for customers or by third party auditors.
  • Establish a consistent approach for managing safety workflow processes
  • Track Safety Management Program activity descriptions, costs, person responsible and targeted completion dates.
  • Conduct activities related to the safety and compliance teams, such as auditing and investigation of alleged violations or complaints. Measured by regulatory, investigation and audit results.
  • Utilize resources to resolve Safety problems by analyzing data, identifying trends and act on the needs to improve the development and delivery of recognized hazards
  • Conduct accurate root-cause analysis to generate prevention strategies and implement preventative and corrective actions.
  • Streamline reporting processes, policies and workflow.
  • Update management on the status of safety program by utilizing monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Works cross-functionally with other departments to address customer or business issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Provide input into changes in policies, including the development of new policies needed to facilitate regulatory compliance
  • Ensures that Enterprise subject matter experts are kept apprised of all audits, contact by government and regulatory agencies as well as the status of any internal reports.
  • Submit OSHA logs for each location.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college preferred
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Adobe Acrobat (pdf), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office Suite knowledge. Ability to learn various safety management tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal guidelines and statutes
  • Must have OSHA 511 or equivalent.
  • Must have flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires up to 20% out of state travel.
