Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a detail-oriented risk analyst to support its Enterprise Risk Management program. The role focuses on quantitative risk modeling, data extraction, and regulatory deliverables, leveraging SQL, Excel, VBA, and possibly R/Python to drive robust risk insights.

You will work with cross-functional teams to maintain models, improve data quality, and document methodologies, supporting stress testing and enterprise risk quantification in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational experience with quantitative analysis, financial or statistical modeling, or complex analytical coursework or projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of SQL and VBA.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, completeness, data integrity, and clear, well-organized documentation.
• Ability and willingness to learn complex quantitative models, understand how their components connect, and build the subject-matter expertise needed to maintain and enhance them over time.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, identify issues, recommend practical improvements, incorporate feedback, and take increasing ownership of assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of assigned quantitative risk models, data flows, calculations, assumptions, dependencies, controls, outputs, and business context.
• Support the enterprise economic capital model and other risk-quantification tools by investigating issues, testing and reconciling results, and explaining updates.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to collect and interpret data and translate business information into quantitative analysis.
• Prepare and analyze complex datasets through profiling, cleansing, standardization, validation, reconciliation, transformation, aggregation, and trend analysis.
• Use SQL, Excel, and VBA, and where applicable R or Python to extract data, perform analysis, support modeling, automate processes, and produce reporting.
• Maintain auditable documentation of data sources, rules, model methodologies, assumptions, and governance activities.
• Support stress-scenario development and enterprise risk quantification, and analysis of business impact.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
• Take ownership of assignments, ask questions, incorporate feedback, and identify opportunities to improve data quality and processes.
