Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates in Connecticut is seeking a Director of Enterprise Risk to lead the development of enterprise-wide risk standards, controls, and governance. You will partner with executives to identify and escalate material risks across the organization.

The role covers subcontractor risk, contractual risk, insurance and procurement governance, and the evolution of a formal ERM function, with ESOP and employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, construction management, engineering, finance, risk management, law, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in commercial management, contracts, risk management, procurement, insurance, subcontractor management, or related disciplines.
• Experience in engineering, construction, environmental, industrial services, or project-based business preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractual, commercial, subcontractor, procurement, or insurance-related risk.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continually improve enterprise-wide standards, controls, approval thresholds, delegated authorities, and exception processes for identifying, evaluating, managing, and monitoring material business risks.
• Partner with executive and operating leaders to ensure material risks are understood, evaluated, and escalated when outside standards or authority.
• Monitor risk and compliance trends, recurring exceptions, and emerging exposures and provide leadership with visibility into the Company's risk profile.
• Establish and maintain enterprise standards for subcontractor and third-party qualification, approval, monitoring, and compliance.
• Review client, subcontractor, vendor, purchase order, and other commercial risks within delegated authority and escalate material or unusual risks.
• Coordinate with leadership and outside counsel to support informed commercial decisions.
• Establish and monitor controls governing procurement, buyout, and insurance requirements; oversee certificate of insurance compliance.
• Develop the enterprise risk function and expand it to cover claims, insurance, bonding, major projects, and other material risks.
