Job description

The Enterprise Relationship Manager serves as a strategic connection point between HCIS and assigned clinical, operational, academic, or administrative partners. This role builds trusted relationships, develops a strong understanding of partner priorities and operational context, and helps identify technology, workflow, and operational needs before they become escalations or unclear project requests.

Enterprise Relationship Managers may support ambulatory, inpatient, hospital‑based, academic, administrative, or enterprise operational areas. Depending on assignment, the role helps identify and communicate operational needs, technology dependencies, readiness concerns, adoption risks, and cross‑functional impacts requiring HCIS engagement. The role partners with clinical informatics, project management, application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, analytics, operational leadership, or other subject matter experts.

The Enterprise Relationship Manager supports early demand identification, request shaping, intake of readiness, prioritization, communication, operational readiness coordination, and ongoing relationship management. The role helps ensure that HCIS understands partner priorities and that operational partners understand HCIS processes, constraints, decisions, and engagement pathways.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Position Responsibilities:

Build and maintain effective relationships with assigned clinical, operational, academic, and administrative partners, serving as a consistent HCIS relationship of contact for assigned departments, sites, service lines, clinics, or operational areas.

Meet regularly with assigned leaders and stakeholders to understand current operations, priorities, plans, emerging needs, risks, and technology dependencies.

Identify emerging technology, workflow, communication, training, adoption, or operational concerns affecting assigned areas and engage appropriate HCIS or operational subject matter experts.

Work with partners to clarify problems, desired outcomes, scope, urgency, dependencies, risks, and success measures before requesting to enter formal intake or project planning.

Help distinguish between requested solutions and underlying business, clinical, workflow, operational, or technology needs.

Route requests to appropriate HCIS teams, leaders, governance structures, project intake processes, or support channels.

Partner with HCIS leadership, project management, clinical informatics, application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, analytics, and support teams to ensure appropriate engagement and follow‑through.

Maintain visibility into active requests, future demand, known risks, escalations, and strategic opportunities across assigned areas, including related, duplicative, overlapping, or conflicting requests.

Support prioritization of conversations by providing operational context, business impact, patient care implications, timing considerations, dependencies, and risk.

Translate operational needs for HCIS teams and communicate HCIS processes, constraints, decisions, timelines, and tradeoffs to operational partners.

Support resolution of escalations by clarifying facts, ownership, decisions needed, next steps, and communication needs.

Support operational readiness coordination for technology, workflow, or process changes by helping identify affected stakeholders, communication needs, training considerations, adoption risks, and post‑implementation concerns.

Prepare relationship updates, demand summaries, issue briefs, and other materials to support HCIS and operational leadership decision‑making.
