Job summary

FedEx Express is seeking a senior project leader to drive cross-functional, cross-opco initiatives across the project lifecycle. You will coordinate technical and business teams, manage budgets, and ensure on-time delivery aligned with strategic objectives.

The role requires strong knowledge of legacy Express systems, GPDE, and organizational change management, with experience in Agile/Waterfall/hybrid delivery. International deployments and stakeholder communication are core aspects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Science, Business, Finance, or related field required.
In addition to minimum experience, high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in a technical or professional position is accepted in lieu of degree.
Five (5) years experience required in a technical or professional environment with at least two (2) years of leading cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

Leads cross-functional and cross-opco teams through all phases of the project lifecycle to successfully deliver strategic business and technology initiatives.
Responsible for managing enterprise projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
Partners with technical and business stakeholders across FedEx Express to support operational initiatives, legacy system modernization, international deployments, and continuous process improvement while adhering to GPDE and Organizational Change Management (OCM) standards.
Lead multiple cross-functional and cross-opco projects through the complete project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, implementation, and project closeout.
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocations, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with approved project scope.
Facilitate projects utilizing Project Management & Engineering methodology, Everest processes, and Organizational Change Management (OCM) standards.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) and FedEx Work Requests (FWRs) supporting operational and technology initiatives.
Lead project governance activities including executive status reporting, issue management, scope control, change management, and stakeholder communications.
Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, monitor dependencies, and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule, budget, or quality.
Collaborate with internal customers, vendors, engineering teams, and operational leadership to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Manage project financials, resource planning, procurement activities, and vendor engagements while maintaining compliance with FedEx policies.
Coordinate Organizational Change Management activities including communication planning, stakeholder readiness, user training, and implementation support.
Track project performance using key metrics and quality standards while providing regular updates to Directors, Vice Presidents, and executive sponsors.
Support global deployments and implementations across U.S., Canada, and international operating companies while collaborating with geographically dispersed teams.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational efficiencies, improving project processes, and implementing best practices across project delivery teams.
