Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to provide enterprise leadership for our project controls function across a large portfolio of integrated design-build projects. This role will modernize platforms, workflows, and analytics to deliver safer, more profitable, and more predictable project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Leadership of project controls for large, complex programs or enterprise initiatives.
• Extensive experience with integrated design-build and alternative delivery models in water/industrial sectors.
• Proven track record delivering digital transformation across enterprise platforms and workflows.
• Deep knowledge of cost engineering, scheduling, forecasting, earned value management, risk, and controls.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into executive recommendations.
• Ability to influence change across a large, matrixed organization and stakeholders.
• Experience developing talent, succession plans, and high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise project controls strategy, governance, and standards.
• Lead design-build and integrated delivery approaches across portfolios.
• Strengthen budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and change management processes.
• Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor margin, cash flow, and delivery risk.
• Champion automation, AI-enabled forecasting, and data-driven reporting.
• Establish scalable document controls, records, and data quality standards.
• Collaborate with leadership, operations, finance, and legal to improve outcomes.
• Build and mentor a distributed team of schedulers, cost controllers, and document specialists.
