Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. seeks an Enterprise Power BI Reporting Intern to join the Information Technology team. You will help develop and administer enterprise Power BI solutions, work with data engineers and analysts, and contribute to governance and semantic modeling while gaining hands-on BI experience.

You'll participate in designing dashboards, validating data, documenting standards, and supporting deployment and lifecycle management as Loram advances its enterprise reporting platform.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software or Application Development, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• Expected graduation date within two years.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn enterprise reporting, analytics, and BI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and applications that support enterprise reporting needs.
• Assist in the design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions.
• Support development and documentation of semantic models, datasets, metrics, and DAX measures.
• Assist in developing reporting governance practices, including report certification, semantic model standards, security, and lifecycle management.
• Support Power BI administration activities, including workspace management, report deployment, dataset refreshes, and environment organization.
• Validate report accuracy through testing and data reconciliation.
• Work with business users to gather requirements, test solutions, and support report enhancements.
• Create technical and end-user documentation to support reporting standards and governance.
• Learn and apply enterprise data management, reporting, and BI best practices.
