Job summary

Project Management Institute seeks a senior portfolio leader to enable enterprise visibility and governance across its transformation portfolio. You will design and maintain the portfolio system for prioritization, capacity planning, and reporting, translating complexity into executive-ready options.

You will drive governance rhythms, data standards, and cross-functional coordination to connect strategy with execution across PMI’s initiatives, leveraging tools like Smartsheet, Jira, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in portfolio management, enterprise governance, program management, operations, transformation, or PMO-style roles.
• Experience designing or improving governance models, portfolio operating rhythms, intake processes, prioritization frameworks, or executive reporting practices.
• Experience managing complex portfolios, cross-functional initiatives, dependencies, risks, and executive-level trade-off discussions.
• Experience building dashboards, scorecards, executive reporting, data standards, and portfolio performance metrics.
• Experience implementing or administering portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, Power BI, or similar platforms.

Job description

You will be responsible for enabling enterprise portfolio visibility, governance discipline, prioritization clarity, and execution excellence across PMI’s transformation and project delivery portfolio. Reviewing relevant portfolios across PMI and design an enterprise portfolio system that supports prioritization, visibility, resource planning, and capacity management at an enterprise level. Designing and maintaining the portfolio management infrastructure, decision frameworks, reporting standards, and operating rhythms needed to connect strategy to execution across critical enterprise initiatives.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in business, operations, project management, strategy, information systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in portfolio management, enterprise governance, program management, operations, transformation, or PMO-style roles.
• Demonstrated experience designing or improving governance models, portfolio operating rhythms, intake processes, prioritization frameworks, or executive reporting practices.
• Experience managing complex portfolios, cross-functional initiatives, dependencies, risks, and executive-level trade-off discussions.
• Experience building dashboards, scorecards, executive reporting, data standards, and portfolio performance metrics.
• Experience implementing or administering portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Experience working in complex, matrixed, global, or enterprise-scale organizations.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, PfMP, or change management certification preferred.
• Strong enterprise portfolio, governance, and systems-thinking capabilities.
• Excellent project, program, and portfolio management skills.
• Ability to translate complexity into clear executive insights, decision options, and practical operating practices.
• Strong analytical, reporting, dashboarding, and data-quality discipline.
• Strong financial, capacity, and resource-management acumen.
