Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a senior Platform Engineer to lead Enterprise API Solution Engineering, building API, AI, and gateway platforms that power digital services.

You will collaborate with Cloud, IAM, Networking, and FinOps teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant platforms across hybrid environments. You will design and operate API gateways (Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management), implement IaC with Terraform, and drive CI/CD adoption while mentoring engineers and supporting platform

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
6–8 years of relevant experience.
Expertise in platform engineering and API gateway engineering within large-scale enterprises.
Hands-on experience with Apigee (Hybrid/OPDK) and platform architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, engineering, and operation of scalable API, AI, and cloud-native platform solutions.
Architect and manage enterprise API gateway platforms including Apigee, AWS API Gateway, and Azure API Management.
Develop and maintain API proxies, shared flows, gateway policies, and GraphQL services for secure, high-performance integrations.
Build and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and automation frameworks for provisioning, governance, and lifecycle management.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and self-service deployment capabilities to improve developer productivity.
Drive security, compliance, and governance standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, RBAC, audit logging).
Design resilient multi-cloud networking and connectivity solutions (private endpoints, load balancing, DR, traffic management).
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, incident management, and cross-functional collaboration.
