Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a senior API platform engineer to own and advance our enterprise API ecosystem. You will drive design and delivery of secure gateway solutions across Apigee OPDK, Apigee Hybrid on Azure, and GraphQL platforms, while mentoring engineers and guiding platform modernization initiatives.

You will lead API security, automation, and observability efforts, partnering with Architects, Security, and Infra teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and reliable services across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years in an IT environment.
• 7+ years in design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical SME for enterprise API ecosystem across Apigee, GraphQL, and cloud platforms.
• Design secure, scalable API gateway solutions for critical apps.
• Lead API platform modernization and migrations (Apigee On-Prem to Hybrid).
• Drive GraphQL strategy including federation, router, and governance.
• Implement API security controls: OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, governance.
• Automate deployments with GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, IaC.
• Improve reliability via monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Architects, Security, Infra; mentor engineers; advance AI-driven practices.
