Job summary

Dallas County is seeking an Enterprise Network Architect to design and lead the County’s enterprise-wide network architecture, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.

You will drive modernization, optimize hybrid networking strategies, and align network initiatives with county digital transformation goals. Collaboration with IT leadership, cybersecurity, and enterprise architects is essential to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, CS, IT, or related field.
• Six (6) years of enterprise network engineering or related experience.
• Certifications such as CCIE/CCDE or equivalent architecture-level credentials preferred.
• Cloud networking certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) and security/architecture frameworks (TOGAF) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, SD‑WAN, and network automation.
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking, zero‑trust security, and network virtualization.
• Expertise in large‑scale data center networking, disaster recovery, and high availability.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessments, and compliance policies.

Responsibilities

• Defines enterprise network service delivery models for high availability and performance.
• Designs secure architectures for county-wide services (public safety, health, courts).
• Ensures wired, wireless, and hybrid environments meet the needs of a mobile, cloud-enabled workforce.
• Guides SD‑WAN, cloud networks, and data center interconnects.
• Defines requirements for IoT, edge computing, and smart devices networks.
• Oversees architecture for continuity, disaster recovery, and real-time app QoS.
• Ensures security, compliance, and alignment with cybersecurity policies.
