Job summary

MEC is seeking a Training Manager to lead the development, implementation, and governance of the manufacturing training strategy across all facilities. You will partner with Operations, HR, Safety, Quality, and site leadership to raise workforce capability and operational excellence.

This role focuses on classroom, on-the-job, technical, leadership, and skills development programs; you will design curricula, establish standards, measure effectiveness, and manage grants and external training

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, OD, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• Seven years of progressive experience in training, workforce development, or related manufacturing fields.
• Experience designing and implementing training programs in manufacturing.
• Experience leading multi-site training initiatives preferred.
• Experience managing workforce development grants or government-funded programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains enterprise training strategy aligned with objectives and priorities.
• Establishes standardized training frameworks and governance for consistent delivery.
• Partners with plant leadership and site trainers to ensure effective curricula and certifications.
• Designs and improves curricula, learning materials, training pathways, and competency models.
• Coordinates resources and provides indirect leadership to training personnel.
• Identifies skill gaps and develops training solutions to improve performance and safety.
• Leads development of training academies, apprenticeships, and workforce development initiatives.
• Implements systems to measure training effectiveness, compliance, and ROI.
• Assembles partnerships with educators, workforce agencies, and providers to expand capabilities.
