About the Role:
Assurit is seeking an Enterprise Interface Specialist to support a Department of the Air Force (DAF) Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) Data Quality initiative. This position serves as a key integration point between project teams, system owners, and government stakeholders to analyze end-to-end transaction flows, identify interface breakpoints, improve data quality, and translate findings into actionable interface requirements.
The ideal candidate possesses experience analyzing enterprise systems, documenting interface requirements, tracing data flows across multiple applications, and supporting systems integration initiatives. This individual will help improve traceability, reduce interface-related risks, and support enterprise data quality and audit readiness efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in system deep-dive sessions with system owners and project stakeholders.
- Analyze and trace end-to-end transaction flows across enterprise systems and interfaces.
- Identify interface breakpoints, failed transactions, manual workarounds, and data handoff gaps.
- Determine where data is created, transformed, validated, transmitted, stored, and consumed throughout enterprise workflows.
- Document interface owners, business rules, dependencies, control points, and system interactions.
- Translate business and technical findings into clear, actionable, and testable interface requirements.
- Maintain traceability between business needs, system behavior, interface requirements, testing activities, and identified defects.
- Support executive decision-making by preparing concise issue summaries, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with project teams, system owners, technical SMEs, and government stakeholders.
- Reduce ambiguity and rework through comprehensive interface documentation and analysis.
- Maintain action registers, RAID logs, decision logs, requirements backlogs, and status reports.
- Support project milestones, dependencies, executive reporting, and delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience supporting systems integration, interface analysis, business analysis, requirements engineering, enterprise architecture, or related initiatives.
- Experience tracing transactions across enterprise systems.
- Experience analyzing APIs, system interfaces, file transfers, batch processes, and enterprise data flows.
- Experience developing interface requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
- Experience creating source-to-target mappings and documenting data transformations.
- Ability to identify root causes of interface, process, or data issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating across technical, functional, business, and government stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while producing high-quality deliverables with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of the Air Force (DAF) environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise systems integration, interface modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience preparing executive-level briefings, reports, and decision support materials.
- Experience supporting data governance, privacy, or records management initiatives.
- Experience supporting audit readiness, enterprise data quality, or IT governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with API integrations, enterprise messaging, batch processing, ETL, or middleware technologies.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments.
