Job summary

Sum Theory, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Architect in a hybrid 6-month contract-to-hire role to lead enterprise DevOps strategy and platform engineering initiatives.

You will define architectures for CI/CD, IaC, container platforms, and security practices, guiding engineering teams while aligning with cloud, security, and business goals. Strong leadership and communication with IT and execs are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; or an equivalent combo.
• 12+ years designing and supporting enterprise DevOps practices and automation platforms.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, enterprise CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and developer enablement.

Responsibilities

• Provides enterprise-level technical leadership for DevOps strategy and platform engineering initiatives.
• Leads architecture standards for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud automation.
• Defines scalable patterns and governance for DevOps delivery.
• Drives continuous improvement through automation, observability, and security integration.
• Mentors engineers and engineers without direct reporting duties to strengthen DevOps capabilities.
• Collaborates with IT leadership and stakeholders to align DevOps with business goals.
