Job summary

University of Idaho is seeking an Enterprise Developer II to design, develop, integrate, and maintain websites and web applications using Sitecore CMS. Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience as a programmer/developer with secure software development practices.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, modifying and deploying software using object-oriented concepts.
  • Experience in testing, and writing test plans with simple requirements.
  • Experience with software repositories for code storage and versioning.

Join the University of Idaho's EnterpriseApplication Development team supporting University Communications& Marketing (UCM). In this role, you'll design, develop,integrate, and maintain websites, web applications, and digitalsolutions that enhance the university's online presence usingSitecore CMS and related technologies. We're seeking someone withexperience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, APIs, andmodern hosting platforms such as Vercel. You'll collaborate withUCM stakeholders while working within OIT's Agile team, applyingsecure development practices and exploring emerging technologies,including AI.

Position Overview: Enterprise Developers are involved in the development of server,OS, desktop, mobile applications and services. They may research,develop specifications for, design, write, modify, test, debug,troubleshoot, document and maintain source code. They will havedirect or related involvement in designing related databases, userinterfaces, integrations to other systems and applications, contentor multimedia processes.

The Enterprise Developer II collaborates with team members to applyprofessional programming concepts to small to medium-sized projectsor portions of larger projects. They are responsible for resolvinga variety of programming design and implementation issues, workingon programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis ofsituations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Theposition follows standard programming procedures to analyzesituations and data.

Required Experience:

  • Two years of professional experience as a programmer/developerincluding:
    • Applying secure software development practices
    • Applying intermediate skills in designing, developing,modifying and deploying software, including object-orientedprogramming concepts
    • Following software specifications
    • Performing software testing; writing test plans with simplerequirements
    • Using common programming tools
    • Utilizing software repositories for code storage andversioning
    • Identifying and resolving basic application problems
    • Communicating technical information to technical personnel atvarious levels in the organization
    • Working in a team environment and as an individual contributorto accomplish shared goals

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologyor a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate AI-generatedoutputs for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment withuniversity policies and values
  • Familiarity with responsible AI use principles, includingawareness of privacy, data governance, bias, and ethicalconsiderations relevant to a higher education environment.
Experience with:
  • Higher education technology
  • Developing user-facing web applications
  • Programming with Javascript or .Net
  • REST protocols as well as other related web services
  • Computer security issues and the ability to apply thisknowledge in the design and development of systems
  • Troubleshooting software development issues and efficientlyresolving the issues in a timely fashion
  • Development workflow and version control tools
  • SDLC and/or Agile methodologies
  • Modern web application hosting platforms such as Vercel
